State of My Mind: Driving

1. Exit Ramps: Is it just me, or have any of you been driving along only to approach an oncoming exit ramp and the person in front of you decides to slam on their brakes. Imagine, speeding along at 71mph, and then the idiot in front of you slams their brakes because they want to turn off and exit from the freeway. Last time I went through drivers education, I could swear I was taught that exit ramps are for exiting the highway. People, this is when you begin to place your foot on the brake and begin to slow down. You do not do it in the middle of the highway as I am listening to the radio, reading my medical journal, and texting someone. This is what causes accidents.

2. Speed Lasers: You know those devices that look like big rocket launchers that the cops will stand next to their cars with, door open, supporting the bottom of, and then aiming them at the unsuspecting drivers not paying attention and bust them for speeding. I have an issue with these things and they way that the cops have been using them. For instance, this morning I am cruising along on my way to work and all of a sudden as I approach an overpass, I seriously duck down in my drivers seat. Why? Because as I come around the curve and the sun disappears from my direct line of sight, I look up, and see this large thing being aimed directly at me. All I think of an instance is some idiot trying to sniper my ass from the overpass because he had a fight with his wife. Or worse yet, the girl I fired from work trying to “jihad” my ass because I am unjust and her God will judge me…Alla-lalalalalalalaaaaaa! Cops, please do not do this. Its not safe and it can cause a major accident that in turn you will try and issue me a ticket for when it was your fault. Put the rocket launchers away!!

  1. …and omg, lets not even talk about the cars that merge ON the highway at the speed of a tractor. And then the idiots expect me to look out for them….NOT bothering to look past their shoulder at the traffic already on the highway. So that leaves me swerving to avoid the car going 30 mph on the ramp, only to run into the moron going 100 mph in the left lane. Id rather drive in chicago.

  2. The one that really gets me- when people turn left on a green arrow from a busy street onto another busy street and then proceed to put on the brakes to slow down even more! Don’t they realize there are other cars behind them trying to make it through the same green arrow they just spent time waiting on to change? It always ends up that someone gets left in the middle of the intersection when the lights turn green for everyone, thus causing everyone to have to wait for the that poor bastard to move his ass!
